Martin Lawrence Galleries is pleased to loan three extraordinary original works by René Magritte (two oil paintings on canvas and one drawing on paper, shown above) to the successful exhibition at the Wadsworth Atheneum entitled, “Dalí, Picasso and the Surrealist Vision” (October 8th to December 31st, 2005).
In a letter from the museum, Eric Zafran, curator of European Art, said, “They made a huge impact and were a great hit with so many of the public. In fact in the end we have had over 52,000 people visit the show, which is quite a turn out for Hartford! We have to conclude that Surrealism is still a dynamic force”..
Martin Lawrence Galleries, one of America’s foremost publishers of contemporary fine art prints and sculpture, represents a number of today’s most popular artists from around the world, such as Erté, Kerry Hallam, Liudmila Kondakova, Thomas McKnight, Fanny Brennan, and Bruce Ricker.
