Greenwich, CTIt’s not everyday you get a “day” all to yourself! But for Chalk & Vermilion artist Liudmila Kondakova, May 21, 2004 has been declared “Liudmila Kondakova Day” in San Francisco.
On Dec. 6, 2003 at Martin Lawrence Galleries, San Francisco, Liudmila Kondakova was at an exhibition introducing her latest original artworks and limited edition serigraph releases. During the evening, Ms. Kondakova was presented with a proclamation, issued by Mayor Willie Brown, declaring May 21st to be “Kondakova Day” in San Francisco. The proclamation was presented to Ms. Kondakova by M. Frederic Desangneaux, Consul General of the French Consulate in San Francisco. Also on hand were members of the French Heritage Society of San Francisco, whose purpose is to raise awareness and funds to repair the architecture of many of the most important historical buildings in France.
Ms. Kondakova was “surprised, and thrilled” at the presentation, and is most grateful to the mayor’s office, the French Consulate, gallery Director Maria Echavarri, the staff at Martin Lawrence Galleries, and of course the many collectors of her artwork who were in attendance for this unique honor and highly successful art show.”
Martin Lawrence Galleries, one of America’s foremost publishers of contemporary fine art prints and sculpture, represents a number of today’s most popular artists from around the world, such as Fanny Brennan, Erté, Kerry Hallam, Liudmila Kondakova, Thomas McKnight, and Bruce Ricker.
