Martin Lawrence Galleries & Los Angeles Make-A-Wish Foundation present "Paintings for Children," a Benefit Art Premier of Andy Warhol's "Toy Paintings".

Greenwich, CT - In 1983, Andy Warhol was commissioned to produce a series of paintings specifically for children, which resulted in 128 original compositions of toys collected by the artist. These works, highly regarded by the art community and of great value art historically, are commonly referred to as the "Toy Paintings." Intended by the artist for this purpose, these original works, small in size, express Warhol's love of children and his passion for collecting unusual toys.
This premier of the exhibition, which is being co-sponsored by Martin Lawrence Galleries and the Los Angeles Make-A-Wish Foundation, will be presented at our gallery location on Rodeo Drive, Sunday afternoon, March 11th, from 2:00pm – 4:30 pm. In addition to the Toy Paintings, an extensive presentation of additional Warhol paintings and screen prints will be on exhibition as well. The exhibition will be presented through March 30th, 2001.
Martin Lawrence Galleries, long recognized as a well-respected entity within the fine art world, has nine galleries nationwide and boasts the largest existing gallery collection of original and print works by Andy Warhol worldwide. Attendance to this event is free and all of the artwork will be available for sale. A portion of all sales proceeds from this premier of the exhibition will be donated to the Los Angeles Make-A-Wish Foundation.
